 Bob Thorogood left school at fifteen and worked as a grocer’s errand boy and in the building trade before joining Northamptonshire Police in 1969 and rising to the rank of Chief Superintendent.

Now retired, he still lives in Northamptonshire with his wife.

He has two sons and a daughter.
